HABITATS & ADAPTATIONS

It is possible to have questions on habitats in your SATS in May 2007. Today 6th May 2007, your SATS is not too far away.

Please go to www.chemistry-takeaway.co.uk then click on about, then in the about page, you will find this work for the key Stage 2 science. The site was for the secondary schools but I have included work for Key Stage 2 as well.

Habitats.

Q: What is a habitat?

A: The natural home of a plant or an animal, is called the habitat.

For e.g. the humans live in houses and flats and other kinds of shelters, which depend from country to country. Eskimos of course live in igloos, which are made, up of nothing but ice. And that is their habitat.

Fish (salmon, trout, cod, sharks and whales) all live in water.

Q: What is the habitat of fishes?

Birds live in nests that mean their home in a nest, where they lay eggs and raise chicks.

Ducks spend most of their time in water for feeding, but actually they lay their eggs on dry land in a nest.
